Went in for a screw for a dresser drawer I was refinishing. The older gentleman that was workigng didn't greet me until I asked for his attention. When I asked if he could find a screw to match the one I brought in he came back and threw the screws on the counter and said here you go. I walked out. Never going back again.
The people that own Gayle's hardware are hard working and honest, I've been going there for over 20 years. They have treated me with the utmost respect and they have been nothing but polite, respectful and considerate.
WORST customer service EVER!!! The heavyset lady behind the counter was rude, obnoxious, and combative when I tried to return a monstrously defecective trap I overpaid for. Avoid!!!!
Great store and great stuff. People were very nice in the store. Just don't return anything after a month. Extremely defensive, accusatory and unhelpful. Needless to say they did not even want to hear about taking the defective item back or even help me in anyway. This is the first time I have ever written a review of any business good or bad. I was incredulous and didn't even know what to say. The item was cookware from a LA company.
It's simple you walk to the counter, tell them what you need or show them what you have that's broken and they get it for you. Best thing about it you can be in and out in less than a minute. It's a store a man can love and he and his beard can feel welcome. The amount ofcast iron and manly cooking devices are a thing of beauty. This place is made for you plus it's locally owned. So you can feel good about yourself after leaving if that's what you're into. Whether it's a $.60 gasket for a faucet or everything you need to compete on the jambalaya cook-off circuit you can find it here. Lastly I've been here and they didn't have what I needed so like a good neighbor they will supply you with the advice of what you need and where else you can find it. Look this a no frills kind of place it's straight to the point which is why I like it. If I wanted to be pampered I would go to a spa not a hardware store.
