Roads need to be paved.extremely noisy from the pavilion.some of these guys work 7 days a week and need sleep.rude jerks who park trucks on one lane road and leave all 4 doors opened...jerk! Otherwise ok.

Needed a place to park our rv...called owner and was very kind and respectful to us...A very hard workng person and always think I about his renters and doing whatever possible to make our stay comfortable and fulfills not just his renters but most people he comes in contact wth

My sweet lady and I lived at Kershaw's Cajun Village for over a year and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The only reason we left was due to work otherwise we likely would have stayed there.

Love it here. It's affordable and the people here are very welcoming. The owner, Rodney, is very helpful, nice, and an all out great person. He is very involved in the community, and he cares about the needs of the people that stay here. He has fabulous plans going on right now of improving the camp. He has full hook ups in many spots, and he is expanding so he can offer more. He is building a pavilion to have live music or other types of gatherings. He is also in the process of building restrooms. You would do yourself a favor by staying here. Kershaw's Village offers you to be able to stay long term if you are here working or whatever your situation. If you like nature, it's all around you out here and has a nice trail to hike around on. Yet, the camp is walking distance, or jogging, to Walmart, restaurants, and shopping centers.

Also scheduled for the near future are full amenities - bathrooms, washateria, and a country store.

His village will soon be the site of a major music and events hall where flea markets auctions and concerts will regularly take place. The building is scheduled to open this September or October 2017.

It's been an ideal place for me to write my column for Lagniappe Magazine and articles for the Jambalaya News. Something about those skies...

Other parks may have more amenities, but other parks don't have an owner like Rodney Kershaw. Rodney Kershaw is a man with a grand vision and a pure heart for the Cajun tradition and history - both of which are precious and dear to him. He plays a mean accordion and sings a good country song too if you happen to be lucky enough to catch him at a campfire jam when the moon is just right!

No doubt other parks have more facilities: there are no public bathrooms, showers or laundromats/washaterias at Kershaw's. The grounds and trailer lots are sparse minimalism in themselves, but there are attractive grass strips, fields, forests, and thickets at the borders of the camp which sits on the banks of a tributary of the historical, vital, and pervasive Calcasieu River. There is a very palpable and tranquil countryside feeling here - though it is very conveniently located scarcely a mile from all the shops and restaurants one could need!

Day rates are affordable. Give Rodney a call. You'll be glad you did.

Year-worn, character-rich retro classic Airstreams and other vintage trailers dot the grounds acting as borders and accent pieces, lending a timeless feel and permanence to the village.

Great location within city limits. Easy access to shopping, restaurants and medical services. Electric, water, trash wifi and expanded basic cable included. Grounds are being updated, laundry facilities are under constuction.

We will return!

So yes; other RV camps may have more luxuries and frills, but I doubt very many have the heart and soul of Kershaw's Cajun Village. And they don't have Rodney.

In this past year at Kershaw's Cajun Village, we made some truly unforgettable friends, and that includes owner Rodney Kershaw who made us feel at home.

There are 30 and 50 amp full hookups (water and sewage.)
