Excellent place! Very clean and good staff.

We were visiting family in Lake Charles for Christmas and stayed in the hotel for eight nights. My in-laws graciously booked the room and were charged $119 per night. I know they don't negotiate prices, but for an eight night stay, they could and should have gotten a better rate, especially since the hotel had low occupancy during the time we were there. That said, we really liked the hotel. It is new, fresh, and clean. No institutionalized cleaning odor hitting you in the face when you walk into the lobby or through the halls. Even though the hotel has been open for about 14-months, the hotel still looks brand new. When we were checking in, I asked that the clerk not assign us to a room that was near the elevator and ice machine. Since the place was empty and we pretty much had the pick of the litter, I was surprised when we went to our room and found it right next to both the ice machine and elevator. The desk clerk moved us to another room that was as far from the elevator and ice machine as possible. Wonder why she didn't do that initially? I'm surprised the owners haven't had the installers of the elevator in to take care of the noise the elevators make. They are some of the noisiest elevators I've heard. The hallways and room were clean and well appointed. The decor in the room is modern. Air conditioning and heat are individually controlled by an in-room thermostat. One thing I found curious is this hotel has zero folding luggage racks in the hotel. This will end up being costly for the hotel because without a luggage rack on which to place luggage, suitcase instead will be put on the white bedspreads or on top of the room's furniture, causing the bedspreads to require frequent cleaning and replacement and cuts and gashes in the wood of the furniture. While the room was clean, the staff does miss cleaning the exhaust fan in the bathroom. It was filled with dust and dirt. We didn't partake of the bistro during our stay. I did use the hotel's exercise room a number of times. They have a universal machine and a rack of dumbbells, and they have about a half dozen each of treadmills and ellipticals. Unfortunately, the universal machine was missing one of the steel pegs that allows you to increase/decrease the amount of weight on the stack, so you're left with only being able to use one of the two stacks of weight. The room was hot the first day I worked out and the A/C was unresponsive to the adjustment of the thermostat. The wall clock on the wall was not working. I brought all three issues to the attention of a maintenance employee. He took the clock down and learned there was no battery in it. He also said that engineering had to do something on the second floor to reset the air conditioning in the room. He said they would look into getting a replacement pin for the weight machine. The next time I used the room, the A/C was working and a battery was in the clock. If you're a gambler, which we are not, this hotel is literally at the end of L'Auberge Casino's driveway. If you don't want to walk, the hotel has a van that will drive you there, as well as other locations close to the hotel. This hotel is four floors, so you do hear some road noise in your room, depending on what side of the hotel your room is on. They were building a new road in front of the hotel when we stayed there. The hotel is within walking distance to many chain restaurants (Buffalo Wild Wings to name one) and retail stores and it's convenient to the Lake Charles bypass, Rt. I-210. There is a brand new Marriott Suites Hotel right next door to this hotel that I'm assuming is owned by the same ownership group as it appears both hotels share the same outdoor pool. While we didn't have a lot of interaction with the staff during our stay, those we did interact with all had very good attitudes and represented the hotel well. All-in-all, I'd stay in this hotel again.

It is a pet resort where human companions are allowed. The staff are fairly friendly, and the newness of the property makes it a nice stay. On my 2nd room change and still not really clean.

New and looks nice. The room was very damp and humid the whole time. They said an engineer would go up and see if there was a water source causing it but when I came down the hall I saw housekeeping coming out of my room with a squirt bottle. Their solution was to deodorize the HELL out of the room which made the situation much worse!!! Smell was never a complaint but now I cannot breathe for the deodorizer is so overwhelming. Had to open the door and partially open the window to let it air out. Nice people, but won't be staying there again. We left and found a better place.

It's pretty good, but the shower handle was so loose it couldn't stay at the three or nine position... Only straight up or straight down... Uncomfortable temperature. The road outside is tricky to get around, one way and such. Overall it's ok, but had some issues.
